Writing Essay 1-04: Natural Island, New Zealand

Today, I'm going to tell about my experience in New Zealand. I went to there 3 years ago as a school trip for a week. I went to many sweet places in NZ. I'm going to tell you about 3 things; farm stay, short trip, and Auckland in my trip in NZ. Are you ready to start??

In the trip, I was supposed to stay a farm for 2 days with 3 friends. And it was such a nice farm, pool, and so on though, they were really kind, friendly, and place surrounded by a lot of nature that I stayed with them. The family didn't live in downtown and have any sociable. Before visiting there, we had decided to stay without Japanese language, but we couldn't because we couldn't speak English well. But we always tried to speak in English, and they tried to listen to our story. The mother always gave us delicious cake after every meal, took us really nice places, and introduced NZ to us. It was too short time that we stayed the house though, we had really nice days. I can't forget them, even if they forget me.

After the home stay, we, all of high school students, went to 2 famous places in NZ. They are Rotorua and Waitomo. In Rotorua, we went to Government Garden, and we watched shearing a sheep in other place (I forgot the name of the place unfortunately... gosh damn it!). Anyway, we can find the history of Rotorua in Government Garden, and we can watch awesome show in other place. In Waitomo, there is a cave. And tiny glowworms are living in the cave. Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their luminescent light as our guides provide informative commentary on the caves' historical and geological significance. Their light are mysterious and beautiful. We are not allowed taking any pictures in the cave, but it's going to be unforgettable memory in your life.

In Auckland, we just went shopping and sightseeing. Auckland is the biggest city in NZ and contains lots of inclines. It's a sister city with Fukuoka. There are beautiful park, big tower, shopping mall, and so on in Auckland. And there are at least 2 shops which clerks can speak Japanese, so if you are in trouble, they would help you I guess. What I want to say is that Auckland is good place, it contains a lot of incline though...

In conclusion, I had really good experience in NZ, and it is my origin to study English. NZ has a lot of beautiful nature, and people are very kind. I hope to go there again sometime. And I want you to go to NZ sometime! I can assure you that you can enjoy the trip when you go there!

March 5th Blog

Hello! How have you been?? I was in Beppu this past weekend with Brendan who is an exchange student. We went to a lot of onsen (hot springs) during the weekend. We went to kind of traditional hot springs, sand beach bath, and mud bath. We refreshed! hehe

We also went to Jigoku Meguri (The "Hell" Tour). There are 8 hells in Beppu, Umi Jigoku(Sea hell), Oniishi Bozu Jigoku(Oniishi Shaven Head Hell), Yama Jigoku(Mountain Hell), Kamado Jigoku, Oniyama Jigoku(Ogre Mountain Hell), Shiraike Jigoku(White Lake Hell), Chinoike Jigoku(Blood Lake Hell), and Tatsumaki Jigoku(Tornado Hell).

Umi Jigoku has a mystic and cool cobalt blue lake, so it's really beautiful but it's 98 C...
Oniishi Bozu Jigoku has mud lakes. Of course, it's also soooooo hot, 98C. I can't explain about this hell. Seeing is believing!! You should go there!!hehe
There are several kinds of animals in the Yama Jigoku. There are duck, peafowl, hippopotamus, elephant, flamingo, and llama. However, this place is kinda boring, I think, because there are just animals.
Kamado Jigoku has a statue of Orge. And it's like small town, this hell has 6 "cho-me(丁目)".
There are many crocodiles in Oniyama Jigoku. And we can see the feeding to them! I could see it luckily.hihi
Shiraike Jigoku has mysterious lake. The lake changes the color of boiled water occasionally in a year. It's sometimes blue, sometimes green, and sometimes purple!!
Chinoike Jigoku has red lake. Its color looks like blood, so it was named "Chinoike."
Tatsumaki Jigoku has geyser!! It looks like tornade!!

...Can I explain about those in Japanese?? humm.... It's hard to do that in English. I have to study English more! I have to know much more vocabulary!! I'll try to do that.

Haha, I'm little bit tired today. I'm gonna start new job tomorrow, so I gotta take a sleep.

Next post will be on Thursday(tomorrow).
See you tomorrow!!
